Mayra V. Morales is the lead analyst of the Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Global Health. Mayra has a background in psychology and graduated from Texas A&M in 2014 with a Master of Business Administration. Mayra joined Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso in 2009 where she began working as a research coordinator for the Center of Excellence in Neurosciences on research studies related to bipolar disorder and schizophrenia among Latinos.



Pilar joined Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso in 2008, with the
Center of Emphasis in Neurosciences. She worked for six years conducting assessments
and coordinating research studies such as “Depression among Medical Students." Throughout
her career, she has held research positions in the private sector. She holds a Bachelor
of Science in Management, and is working on her master's degree. She has previously
worked in public health (epidemiology, pre-natal, consumer health).
Pilar has always been involved in border health promotion, was very active as co-president
for the El Paso-Juarez, Las Cruces Bi-national Health Council, and has held a position
as president for the local CAPIC (Community Association of Professionals in Infection
Control) group while working for the City-County Health Department’s Epidemiology
Program.
She enjoys meeting people, likes traveling, loves reading and appreciates a good cup
of coffee.
