Please read the information on this page and use the links below to navigate through the orientation process. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the services our school offers. Please be sure to review your program-specific information for additional orientation requirements.

 

It is critical to activate your eRaider account as soon as possible. This account gives you access to your TTUHSC El Paso email and many of our online resources. If you have been a student within the past six months, then your eRaider account should still be active. Upon acceptance to the program, you should have received an email with your eRaider activation code.

You must have your eRaider activated to access your email account. All program-related information will be sent to TTUHSC El Paso email. Personal email addresses will not be utilized for program correspondence.

  1. Contact your course faculty member and report the problem.
  2. The faculty member will alert the director of distance education to troubleshoot and correct the access or other issue(s), if possible.
  3. Should the director of distance education be unable to resolve your issue(s) within a areasonable amount of time, they will contact the IT Help Desk the next business day and notify the faculty member.
  4. The faculty member will contact the student. It is at the faculty member’s discretion to allow more time for an assignment due to IT issues.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing

 

In accordance with HSCEP OP 10.20, all students are required to complete and clear a criminal background check (CBC) prior to enrollment in the Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing (GGHSON). Students are responsible for their own CBC and any associated fees.

Undergraduate students can complete and clear the CBC through the Texas Board of Nursing (TBON). Instructions are supplied to all incoming undergraduate students at orientation.

Distance education R.N. to B.S.N. and graduate students must have a current, unencumbered state nursing license and have cleared the CBC process through the TBON or an appropriate out-of-state licensing authority.

In accordance with HSCEP OP 10.20, additional background checks are required after a break in enrollment.

If an applicant believes the record contains errors and notifies the school in writing of his/her intent to challenge the report, matriculation is placed on hold pending the outcome of the challenge. Should the applicant fail to notify the school of his/her intent to challenge the record, or if it is determined that the record is accurate, the admission offer will be withdrawn.

TTUHSC El Paso requires that all immunizations be verified by a health care practitioner prior to matriculation. Please submit your immunization form, including all supporting documents, to the Office of Occupational Health as soon as possible. All immunization requirements must be met prior to first day of class. Download the immunization form provided and use it as a guide for what is required. If applicable, your admission is contingent upon the department's receipt of official transcript(s) verifying in progress coursework and/or an earned bachelor's degree. All official transcripts must be received no later than the first day of class. Please read below for information on submitting your final transcripts.

Students must park in the designated TTUHSC El Paso student parking area at all times. You can register your vehicle(s) by clicking on the link below

You must purchase your permit before the day of student orientation. Parking permits will be available for pick-up on the day of orientation. The parking sticker must be on your windshield on the first day of class.

Distance education students (R.N. to B.S.N and M.S.N) are NOT required to purchase a parking permit.

Visiting distance education students must contact the Office of Student Affairs for parking arrangements prior to arrival.

Do not park in Visitor Parking spaces or you will be ticketed.

Please click on the TTUHSC El Paso Library link below, scroll down to the bottom left side of the page, and click on the Library Cards icon. You will be asked to sign-in with your eRaider username and password. You will then be directed to a registration page; please complete the registration process. The TTUHSC El Paso Library will process your registration and send you an email containing a printable library bar code.

TTUHSC El Paso complies with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and state and local requirements regarding students with disabilities. The Office of Disability Support Services (DSS) is committed to providing equitable access to learning opportunities for all students with documented disabilities (e.g., mental health, attentional, learning, chronic health, sensory, or physical). Accommodations are not provided retroactively and students are encouraged to register as soon as they begin their academic program (the process can take up to 30 days). The process for requesting accommodations consists of an application for services, documentation from a qualified provider, and an intake interview with the Director of Disability Support.

Student Business Services is responsible for the billing and collection of student tuition and fees, exemptions and waivers, third party contracts, processing student refunds, and the collection of federal and institutional loan programs.

  3. Submit a photo per the guidelines:
    1. Follow the instructions for submission.
    2. Students will receive an email if photo is not within specified guidelines.

  4. Once the Office of Student Affairs receives a completed notarized ID verification form, a completed Identification/Security Access form, AND an acceptable electronic photo, you will receive your student ID badge via certified mail to the address provided on the Identification/Security Access form.

Lost, stolen or damaged IDs are subject to an ID replacement fee. To replace an ID, please complete a new ID verification form for each occurrence.
